Winston County Valedictorians & Salutatorians

Winston County should be proud of the group of Valedictorians and Salutatorians for 2025. Each have studied, sacrificed, and stayed the course to achieve their goals. This article will highlight the val & sal from each school in Winston County. We congratulate each one and their accomplishments and wish them and all their classmates all the success as they start this new chapter in their life after graduation.


Grace Christian School

Valedictorian - Max Peterson

Max's memories playing basketball and baseball, getting to know the teachers (which have became his friends), and getting to experience high school with a great group of friends is what he has enjoyed the most about his time in high school.

After high school Max looks forward to starting his adult life. He plans on attending Mississippi State University in the fall in hopes of graduating with a criminal justice degree before attending Ole Miss Law School.



Salutatorian - Remle Anne Mattice

Remle has enjoyed playing basketball and softball during her time in high school. Also, she has loved participating in Beta Club events and all the educational trips that have strengthened her connections with her classmates.

After graduation, Remle is excited to take advantage of the break to travel, meet new people, and see the beauty of God's creation.

To quote Remle directly about her plans after high school, "I still can’t fully decide what I want to be when I grow up. However, I know now is the perfect time to experience different avenues of study. My current plan is to attend a community college and then transfer to a university to major in Biology or some other area of science.

I am excited to see how God will use my talents. I know He will direct my path towards what is best for me."


Louisville High School

Valedictorian - Chawan Jernigan

What Chawan enjoyed the most about high school was being a part of the Pride of Louisville Band for the past four years. It was an incredible experience that left him with lasting memories and strong friendships. Serving as Drum Major this school year has been a true honor and a highlight of his high school journey.

Chawan looks forward to continuing his education and diving deeper into subjects that interest him. Jernigan says, "Gaining new knowledge and building valuable skills will help me grow both personally and professionally. I believe that these experiences will prepare me to succeed in my future career and achieve my long-term goals."

In the fall, Chawan plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at either Mississippi State University of the University of West Alabama.


Salutatorian - Jamaya Goss

Jamaya's favorite high school experiences included cheering at state championship games, and participating on the homecoming court as lady in waiting her senior year.

After high school, she looks forward to becoming a Pediatric Registered Nurse. Jamaya plans on attending the University of West Alabama to major in Nursing.



Nanih Waiya Attendance Center

Valedictorian - Emma Creel

Emma has enjoyed the opportunities that high school has provided her most. She has been able to travel to many states and meet different people in Mississippi and all over the country. Through many different programs like FFA and Beta Club she was given the chance to attend conferences and sessions.

Emma is looking forward to attending Mississippi State University to major in Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture. She was also accepted into the Early Entry Program for Veterinary School at MSU after two years of undergrad. This has always been her dream and she is thrilled to be one step closer to her goals.


Salutatorian - Addison Price

During Addison's time in high school she has enjoyed playing softball and making lasting memories with her friends.

She looks forward to her senior trip and going to college to meet new people.

Addison's plans after high school are to attend East Central Community College and Major in Secondary and Physical Education.



Noxapater Attendance Center

Valedictorian - Erial Mays

Erial has enjoyed playing trasketball at Vo-Tech and at Noxapater to review for tests in her classes, and she is most looking forward to making new friends and learning more about her studies after high school.

Erial is planning on attending the University of Mississippi and majoring in Biological Sciences.





Salutatorian - Zachary Lloyd

Zach has enjoyed playing sports in high school the most. After high school Zach is looking forward to getting an education and starting a family.

He plans on attending East Central Community College and majoring in Secondary Education and Coaching.





Winston Academy

Valedictorian - Reed Yates

During Reed's time at Winston Academy he has enjoyed leading the student body as SBA President and playing sports with all of his friends.

Reed is mostly looking forward to meeting new friends and getting involved in new organizations after graduation. He plans to attend Mississippi State University and major in Biomedical Engineering then attend medical school to become and orthopedic surgeon.





Salutatorian - Brooklyn Woods

During Brooklyn's time in high school she enjoyed homecoming week most where there was Junior/Senior "wars", her and her classmates painted the road, dressed up for theme days, participated in the homecoming play, and took part in homecoming night.

Brooklyn looks forward to meeting new people and having new experiences after high school. She will be attending the University of Mississippi. Her major will be nursing, and later she plans to become a nurse anethesist.
