The Red Hills Festival has a significant place in the heart of Winston Countians. Once deemed the Red Hills Arts Festival, the event was centered around local artists and their work. Over time, the Festival has grown to encompass not only artwork, but a fun and exciting downtown festival along with the Red Hills Car Show, which is held at 55 North Columbus Avenue, in front of Taylor Tool and Supply.
The Red Hills Festival will offer an artwork display at the Winston County Library. This exhibit may be viewed on the day of the Festival from 10 - 1. However, art for display will be collected starting tomorrow, Thursday, April 24.
Families should check out the Kids' Zone, which will offer unlimited play all day with the purchase of a $10 armband.

On the day of the Festival, the traditional 5k walk and run will start off the festivities. Along with downtown businesses opening up to welcome visitors to Louisville and Festival attendees, there were also be food vendors and many arts and crafts vendors. Entertainment will be ongoing throughout the day with Louisville's own Jodie Ross and other local musicians, including The Smoke, Ballou & the Bears, Trent Jones, and The Lonely Hearts Club Band.

The Louisville/Winston Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Louisville must be lauded for their roles in planning and overseeing the Festival, as it requires months of advance planning and organizing so that visitors may enjoy the day.

While the Red Hills Car Show is now held on North Columbus Avenue, it began in the parking lot of the First Baptist Louisville Church. Location was an issue as it was situated away from the main portion of the Festival, so, when The Taylor Group acquired the property on 55 North Columbus Street - now known as Taylor's Tool and Supply - the show moved.
Now, festival goers may simply walk to Tabor Drugs, hang a left, and walk to the Car Show.
2020 was set to be the first year in which the Car Show was held at 55 North Columbus, but COVID would - as it did with many other events across the nation - call for the cancellation of the Red Hills Festival. In 2021, however, the Festival returned and the location in front of Taylor Tool and Supply has been a perfect fit for the event since.
With the moving of the Car Show to TTS, the Taylor Group has been able to provide those involved in the car show easy access to the vendors and entertainment provided by the Festival. Typically, Taylor's Tool and Supply will also join in, grilling up delicious food for Car Show participants and offering easy access should any of them need a last-minute part or cleaning supplies for the show.
The Taylor Group also provides door prizes for participants in addition to food and easy access to anything they might need to get their vehicle show-ready!
The car show goes back to a time when Jerry Hendrix was one of the founders of the show. Today, his son Scott helps to bring in an impressive lineup of vehicles. Hendrix dedication to the event and his hometown help to make the Car Show a special part of the Red Hills Festival.
We hope you'll mark your calendar for the Red Hills Festival and Car Show on Saturday, May 10!
