Adult Cooking Classes hosted by Winston County Extension Office

The Winston County Extension Office is excited to share information about an upcoming Cooking Matters six-week class for adults. The classes begin on March 26th, and they will continue weekly until the final class on April 30.

Cooking Matters classes are intended to assist adults in learning how to prepare healthy meals. Skills that will be taught during the six-week period include how to properly use a knife, cutting up a whole chicken, and how to read food labels. Students will learn information about grocery shopping, food budgeting, nutrition, and food preparation tips.  Participants will be able to take home ingredients at the end of the class to practice preparing class recipes.

Classes will take place on Wednesdays from 3:15 - 5:15 PM at the Winston County Extension Office. For more information, interested individuals should contact Sophia Humes at 662-773-3091 or email srj60@msstate.edu
